Capacity Building Program-Art Integrated Learning

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and CBSE directives to make learning experiential and joyful, Kongu International School organised a one-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on “Art-Integrated Learning (AIL)” for our faculty.

The interactive workshop, facilitated by distinguished CBSE-empanelled resource persons, provided teachers with practical methodologies to utilise art as an experiential pedagogical tool rather than an isolated subject.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Pedagogical Shift: Transitioning from passive rote methods to experiential learning where visual, performing, and traditional Indian folk arts serve as pathways to master abstract curricular concepts.

  • Cross-Curricular Applications: Hands-on activities demonstrating how drawing, role-play, puppetry, music, and sculpture can simplify complex topics across Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and Languages.

  • Art-Integrated Projects (AIP): Formulating interdisciplinary projects aligned with CBSE mandates, including the integration of paired states under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.

  • Competency & Authentic Assessment: Developing outcome-based assessment rubrics to evaluate creative inquiry, collaboration, and critical understanding without grading artistic talent alone.

The engaging session empowered our teachers to transform conventional classrooms into vibrant, exploratory spaces. At Kongu International School, we remain dedicated to pedagogical innovation that sparks imagination, promotes cultural appreciation, and fosters holistic academic excellence.
